#7 - I am beginning to like salads.
Which leads me to #62, my recipe of the month:
- baby spring lettuce mix
- walnuts
- feta cheese
- dried cranberries
- raspberry vinaigrette
#18 - Tomorrow will be my last day working my Saturday job. I called today to put in my two week notice. This means August 2010 will begin the "at least 6 months with only two jobs." I am looking forward to my Saturdays always being free!
#52 - Check
#53 - We were in Michigan for a week around 4th of July. We spent many a night at the beach and even went up to a cottage at Pentwater Lake (which connects to Lake Michigan). It was gorgeous weather, and we thoroughly enjoyed the trip. This provided us with the opportunity to swim in Lake Michigan, which was a remarkably warm 72 degrees. It was really, really great.
#54 - We tried to watch a couple sunsets, but usually it got cloudy right at the setting time. But it was still many enjoyable evenings at the lake.
That pier on the other side is where Travis and I got engaged almost 5 years ago!
#69 - I filed ALL the papers in the guest bedroom. This was a huge feat!
#70 - In conjunction with #69, I cleaned out the filing cabinet! Between these two tasks I spent an entire day sorting and shredding, resulting in at least 7 sacks of shredded paper. Phew. I was not looking forward to this, but it feels good to have it done. Now I just have to keep up the filing. :)
#90 - I wrote my times on all of my running medals, including that date and distance.
#93 - I am happy to say Avery is now out in our house every day, all day, even when I am not home. She is a total star. Oh, and she got stung by a bee in Michigan, but seemed to only be a little disturbed.
#99 - Travis' awesome Grandma Elzinga altered all of my clothes that no longer fit. I am happy to say, this gained me four dresses in my closet!
In Michigan, we had a memorial service for my Grandpa. It was a great day to celebrate a great man's successful life. He truly was and is an inspiration for his children and grandchildren. And ALL of the grandchildren made it back for this occasion. We also had a family wedding (same side of the family) the following weekend. It was very warm, but the site for the wedding and reception was beautiful. We had a great time with family, I only wish Matt & Jess could have been there for the wedding.

Also, congratulations to Travis' cousin Kelli and her husband Steve, who welcomed baby Brant James into the world on Tuesday, July 13th! Unfortunately, a few days after we left Michigan. :(
Less and one week and we will be in Florida! Woo hoo! Looking forward to another great trip to see great people. And, I get to check many things off my list there too. :) See you next month.
I completely agree about iceberg lettuce. The only time it is good is in the 1905 salad from The Columbia, which you can have on Friday night if you want! Spring mix and baby spinach are my favorite salad starting points. Spinach is really good with raspberries, sauteed mushrooms, and balsamic vinaigrette (one of my favorite salad 'recipes'!
